By giving it a bath on a regular basis, you can keep your Pillow Pet free of dirt and ready for play. The majority of Pillow Pets can be washed in the washing machine. Gentle hand washing with a moist cloth may help those who don’t. Air drying your Pillow Pet after washing is recommended to prevent the fur from being burned.

What Are Pillow Wraps?

Wraps for pillows are made of fabric and are used to encase a pillow.

Some people like to adorn their pillows with unusual embellishments like buttons and letterings.

These pillowcases can be found in a vast array of stores, each carrying a unique style. If you’re interested, I think it’d be a good idea for you to look into those.

But if you’d rather make your own from scratch to suit your exact needs, this article is for you!

Steps To Wrap A Pillow

Pillows may be quickly and easily wrapped. It’s a breeze!

To properly encase your pillow, just follow these four simple steps:

Step #1. Gathering of supplies

You can make your own pillowcase by gathering the following items:

  • One-half yard of fabric that is 44 inches in width (can vary based on your pillow size)
  • 6”x13” iron-on adhesive
  • Adhesive iron-on, sized at 6×13 inches
  • Choose three huge ornamental items.

Bear in mind that your jewelry shouldn’t be too hefty. Quotes, words, or numbers that have inspired you in the past could be used.

The heat n bind glue that securely attaches the embellishments to your pillow wrap can only be activated with an iron.

Step #2. Cutting

Iron-on adhesive sheets have a paper side that can be used to trace the lettering and embellishments.

Keep at least 1/2 in. of distance between each adhesive and adjust the spacing as needed to achieve the look you want.

Separate the letters and attempt to leave a seam allowance of about a quarter of an inch. Make an applique by applying the adhesives to the “wrong” side of your cloth using an iron.

Put away the letters once they have been carefully trimmed to the correct size.

Finally, wrap the main pillow in the fabric you cut to the size you like. A 14-inch by-29-inch sheet was perfect for this.

Step #3. Sewing

Flip the pillow over and press a half inch all the way along each long side.

Turn under again and create a double fold hem to secure the wrap around the pillow tightly.

A double-fold hem at the bottom of the wrap will ensure that it stays securely around the pillow.

Adjust the location of the ends of the hook and loop tape so that you would wrap the pillow adequately and with a minimal allowance.

Step #4. Decorating

Wrap the pillow securely while leaving as little space as possible by repositioning the tape’s ends.

After adhering the hook and loop tape, wrap the tape securely around the pillow and fasten it in place. Pad down anywhere you see fit.

You can finally get rid of those boring throw pillows!

Warning!

Current care instructions for MyPillowPets can be found on the site, and they advise us to insert our pets inside a white pillow case, tie off one end, and clean the whole thing in the washing machine using cold water on the delicate cycle. It also specifies that “the same level of care should be given to all Pillow Pets products.” This is FALSE: You can safely launder electronic Pillow Pets with this procedure. It is possible to wash scented pets in this method, but doing so will eliminate the fragrance.

Please refer to the following guidelines for washing your Pillow Pet goods.

Washing Instructions for Regular Pillow Pets

All non-electronic, non-scented pillow pets can be safely cleaned using this procedure. Some examples at the time of this writing are the Pillow Pet, Pillow Pet XL, Jumboz, and Body Pillars. Favorite stuffed animals of our kids should be given a good washing once a month.

  1. Vacuuming your pillow pet on a regular basis, in addition to cleaning it, will help it stay cleaner for longer.
  2. To get rid of stains before they set in, use a stain stick or your usual pretreatment techniques.
  3. You should check the toy for any split seams or other damage that could get worse in the wash, and fix it if necessary.
  4. Tuck the animal into a white pillowcase or a mesh bag with a zipper (white to avoid dye transfer).
  5. Two cups of vinegar and one cup of baking soda can be used in place of normal detergent.

Washing Instructions for Electronic Pillow Pets

At the time of publication, Glow Pets and Dream Lites were two examples of electronic pillow pets. You can’t throw them in the washing machine or soak them in water to clean them.

  1. To begin, give the stuffed animal a good vacuuming to get rid of as much dirt as possible.
    1. Most favored upholstery cleaner
    2. Water and woolite
    3. Simple detergent, water, and washing the clothes by hand
  2. Make a mountain of suds by agitating the cleaning solution.
  3. Apply a tiny amount of suds only (don’t soak it!) using a sponge or folded terrycloth towel to the soiled areas, rub gently, and then wipe it off with a clean, dry towel. Avoid getting soap and grime further into the toy by using as little suds as you can.
  4. To remove the soap, wet another sponge or towel with clean water and follow the steps above as before.
  5. Use a clean, dry towel right away to dry off as much as possible. Use the fur’s nap to massage the animal. A wet/dry vac, often known as a shop vac, can be used to remove the majority of the water.
  6. The animal should be left in a dry, well-ventilated area.
  7. After it’s dry, you may give hair a quick brush through with a gentle comb or brush to restore its fluffy appearance.

Dry Washing a Pillow Pet

Here is a strategy that works equally well with electronic and non-electric pillow creatures.

  1. To make a powder for your pillow pet, place it in a plastic trash bag and add 1 to 3 cups of baking soda or corn starch (more powder for larger pillow pets).
  2. Vigorously shaking the bag will ensure that the toy is coated with the powder.
  3. The baking soda or corn starch needs at least a full night to fully absorb the oils and soil.
  4. First, use a brush and a broom to knock loose as much of the corn starch or baking soda as you can, and then finish by vacuuming up what’s left. It’s important to follow the first step since using too much corn starch or baking soda will ruin your vacuum.
