For those who don’t want or can’t install new hardware, or who need a way to cover up the vertical blinds in their rental, here is the greatest option or hack for doing so.

A few months ago I explained how we dealt with wire shelving in a rental and today I’ll show you how we dealt with a new rental challenge.

Vertical blinds may be the one thing I despise more than ugly wire shelving.

Replace your vertical blinds with curtains by following these simple steps!

Is this an issue in your own house or a rented place?

While vertical blinds were a simple answer to a problem in our own house, getting them installed in a rental property is a whole new ballgame.

When I started thinking about how to get rid of these vertical blinds, I knew I wanted to use curtains instead.

The blinds’ mechanical components were also important to me, and I did not want to dismantle the blinds or drill holes in the walls that I would have to patch in the near future.

Can you replace blinds with curtains?

Yes!! So, what are the options left?

First and foremost, I removed all of the vertical blinds, wrapped them in plastic, and put them in the basement.

Eventually, when it comes time to once again move I can just snap them right back in place.

Snapping them back into place will eventually be possible when I need to move again.

With no leaves on the trees and a house on the other side, I decided we’d need some form of cover for our back entrance in the winter.

With the morning sun shining brightly, it’s a perfect day.

After searching high and low, I came across these s hook clips.

They may be small, but they are mighty, and they can easily support heavier drapes. You don’t have to rely solely on sheers when it comes to styling your hair.

Hooked style clips are available in larger sizes, but I prefer the smaller ones because they are easier to conceal.

Using the existing vertical blinds slider, I was able to easily insert the s hooks and secure the curtains.

The vertical blinds’ slider lets us pick whether or not to have the curtains slid all the way back and out of the way when we don’t need them.

Regular curtain rods can have this issue as well, since a center bracket can prevent the drapes from sliding all the way to the other side.

That’s all you need to know about replacing vertical blinds.

To save money, I used curtains from our previous home instead of vertical blinds, which is a lot better option for me.

Please let me know if this helps one of you, too! Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments section below, and I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

What Can You Use To Replace Those Vertical Blinds?

The use of draperies or drapes as a replacement for vertical blinds is a fashionable choice.

Draperies can entirely obscure the view out the window.

To get a better perspective, you can also swivel it to the side.

In addition, you have the option of selecting from a wide variety of drapery options, such as curtain panels, cornices, and valances.

There are so many ways to spruce up a room with drapes like these.

However, the degree of insulation and UV protection varies depending on the type of curtain you choose to use.

Adding a layer of shutters or blinds to your drapes will provide additional insulation and protection.

Steps To Replace Vertical Blinds With Curtains

It is possible to remove those vertical blinds in several ways.

There are numerous ways to replace it with curtain panels if you choose to do so.

However, we’ll show you how to do it with S hook clips in this post.

Everything will go smoothly if you make sure to follow these two simple procedures.

The following are the processes for installing curtains in place of vertical blinds:

Step #1. Taking down the vertical blinds

Take down those vertical blinds as the very first step in the process.

The basement is a good place to keep them safe.

When it’s time to leave, all you have to do is snap them back into position.

Your rear entrance or window is now uncovered thanks to the removal of the vertical blinds.

Despite the fact that some people would prefer to call it a day and move on, it would still be a good idea to get them covered.

You’re aware that the morning sun could wake you up from your slumber.

Step #2. Hanging the curtains using S hook clips

I was awed and grateful when I learned about S hook clips. To make this project a reality, we’ll need a few critical pieces of gear.

Despite its diminutive size, this type of clip is incredibly durable.

A more significant advantage of S hook clips is their ability to retain curtains with greater thickness.

S hook clips can be used with any sort of curtain, not just sheer ones, according to some people.

These hook clips are also available in bigger hook styles, but I prefer the smaller ones because they can stay more hidden.

Why use S hook clips?

These hook clips are also available in bigger hook styles, but I prefer the smaller ones because they can stay more hidden.

They also come in larger styles, but I prefer the smaller ones because they’re more discrete and can be tucked away easily.

This is a simple task because the S hook clips are small enough to slip the hook through and clip the curtains up. Isn’t it simple?

With this simple method, you can easily fix your patio drapes.

S hook clips can be used instead of a normal curtain rod.

The vertical blinds have a slider that allows you to open and close the curtains as needed.

You can also slide the drapes closed fully if you like.

This can be a difficulty when using a standard fishing rod.

They usually have a center bracket that prevents the curtain from sliding all the way to the other side.

It’s A Wrap!

Those are the steps for converting vertical blinds into drapes.

Isn’t it fast and simple?

Two simple steps are all that is required.

Taking down the vertical blinds and hanging the curtains is all that is required.

Isn’t that easy?

When it comes to vertical blinds, this is the best solution we’ve come up with.

If you already have curtains from your previous home, this quick-fix approach will cost you a fortune.

I hope you found some value in what I had to say!

God bless you and your new home.

Keep yourself safe at all times!
